The Media Education Association was formally launched in London on Saturday, 17 June 2006. It has received funding from the DfES to establish its website over the coming months, and potential members can now join by going to www.mediaedassociation.org.uk.
The initiative has come from a group representing media teachers and media education across the UK, including the English and Media Centre, Media Education Wales, bfi Education Film Education, and in the picture magazine, as well as colleagues Vivienne Clark, Symon Quy and David Buckingham.
